In the spirit of promoting debate over the relevance of the League of Nations and the importance of global multilateral organisations, an interdisciplinary conference will be held in Lisbon from 18 to 20 September.
With keynote speakers Colin Wells (United Nations Library at Geneva), Nicholas Werth (Institut d’Histoire du Temps Présent — CNRS), Philippe Rygiel (École Normale Supérieure de Lyon), Patricia Clavin (University of Oxford), and Patrick Finney (Aberystwyth University), the conference will explore several themes, including:
- genealogy and study of the concept of intergovernmental organisations
- peace and security
- social issues
- rights of minorities and refugees
- international law and justice
