The innovation team of the Division of Conference Management (DCM) at the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) is organizing an exhibition about the evolution of translation and interpretation services in support of multilateralism over the course of the past century.

The exhibition, which is part of the DCM InnoVent initiative, traces the origins of interpretation at the United Nations, and its predecessor organization the League of Nations, and the evolution of technical tools for simultaneous interpretation. It includes unique documents from the United Nations and League of Nations archives on interpreters and translators as well as several articles showing how the perception of language professions at international organizations has changed over the years.

We hope that you will come to see these and other interesting archival documents: vinyl disks, audio cassettes, vintage microphones and much more!

When: 16-20 January 2020

Where: Library & Archives, Palais des Nations, B Building, 1st floor
